The Art Session of the Innopraktika School, a platform for creative self-expression for dozens of students from around the world, triumphantly ended on June 9.

Fifteen artists and sculptors from Argentina, Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Turkey, Venezuela, Burundi, Vietnam, Uganda and Burkina Faso, as well as ten young students from the Lugansk State Academy of Culture and Arts named after M. Matusovsky, took part in the 2023 Art Session. Participants of different nationalities and social and academic backgrounds quickly found a common language between them – the language of art and global human values.

For more than two weeks of the educational program, students of the School participated in master classes, lectures and plein airs by Anastasia Nikolaeva, Ilya Zorkin, Ksenia Galkina and Artyom Tikhonov – outstanding teachers and painters of the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts named after Ilya Repin. Roman Olenich taught the Art Session students graphics, and Mikhail Molyakov gave lectures on anatomical drawing. Ilya Porvatov and Katerina Pilnikova, participants in numerous international exhibitions, symposiums and sculpture competitions, worked with the sculptors during the practical sessions.

An extensive cultural program with visits to the sights of St. Petersburg was organized to provide an atmosphere of intellectual context and stimulate independent creative work for the session's students. The program included the Hermitage, Russian Museum, Mikhailovsky Theater, Tsarskoselsky Palace and memorable places associated with famous artists.

Particular emphasis was placed this year on the exchange of creative experiences between representatives of different nations, viewed through the prism of contemporary Russian culture. During the Art Session, participants created works demonstrating their perception of Russia's historical path, the challenges facing its cultural sphere, and the themes of humanism and creative work.

The works of African artists and sculptors recognized as the best in the session will be presented at a separate Innopraktika School exhibition, a part of the Russia-Africa summit. The exhibition will take place from July 26 to 28th at the ExpoForum Exhibition and Convention Centre.
